Introduction to Agile Software Engineering in SAFe

SAFe is built on high-performing teams that exhibit Lean quality practices and engineering techniques. Yet, the practices for Software Engineering continuously evolve. Common practices such as coupling/cohesion, patterns, and XP are now combined with Minimal Marketable Features, Test-Driven and Behavior-Driven Development, agile modeling, and DevOps. This session shows how these practices blend into a modern definition of Agile Software Engineering. We also discuss how this new perspective on Agile Software Engineering defines the technical activities for SAFe’s Team level.

Learning Objectives and Key Takeaways:

  • Explain the multiple facets of the Agile Software Engineering discipline
  • Know the technical practices that comprise agile software engineering
  • Explain how Agile Software Engineering anchors the SAFe 4.5+ framework
